What is the R.C.A. PTO?
The key purpose of the Redland Christian Academy’s Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is to develop strong working relationships among parents, teachers and the school, in support of our students. To attain this objective, the PTO will include recruiting and coordinating volunteers, fundraising, providing special recognition in awards ceremonies, organizing parent education events, planning teacher appreciation activities and much more.
The PTO is usually identified as a fundraising group. This is a true in that wherever the school faces challenging budget limitations, the PTO will try its best to rise to the occasion and assist in supplementing funds for different ventures.
Our PTO meetings function as a setting for discussions about a variety of educational issues. Teachers communicate with parents about new class/teaching strategies or disciplinary issues. Parents may raise concerns about issues like homework or suggested modifications in the school curriculum. Most important is that PTO meetings is where we come together to brainstorm and sugget strategies on how to improve the Redland Chiristan Academy community as a whole.
