Hello, I am Mrs. Keating, and it is an honor to be the Special Education teacher for high school, here at Redland Christian Academy (RCA). I am a graduate from University of Phoenix, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and I am presently undergoing a Master of Arts in Education/Special Education. My main focus in the classroom is to ensure all students gain the opportunity to excel to their true potential academically, socially, spiritually, and personally. I believe all children living with a disability can make a positive difference, and will be great contributors to themselves, and society. This is only possible if they are taught to use their voices knowing their opinions matter, they are aware of their worthiness, and are deserving of the very best.In my classroom, each student is unique, and works at his or her pace. The core   subjects are; Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, Bible lessons, and Social Studies. Specials are P.E., and Computer class, in addition, Life-skills, Current Events, Public Speaking, and Manners/Etiquette. Students with academic abilities will be introduced to the “Pull-out Program,” in preparation for full integration to “Mainstream Classes.” Parental involvement plays a pivotal role in a child’s educational journey. The probability for a student to excel is greater when parent involvement is present. There is hope for students living with a disability after graduation. I usually meet with parents to provide information on entities for higher education, or vocational services that specifically specialize for children with disabilities.
My class motto: “Try before you say you can’t.”
My class Bible verse: Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 KJV.
Parents please do not hesitate to contact me if you are having any concerns or questions.
I pray God will continue to bless you and your family richly and abundantly.
In His Service,
Mrs. Keating.

Spiritual Poem
When I Am Reminded
By Gaye Combs
Each day is a new beginning given by God.
I am reminded how blessed I am as this road I tread.
A new friendship comes to mind and it is my treasure.
Watching a child at play is my greatest pleasure
Being able to help a fallen soul will be my greatest joy.
Watching a bird build a nest while the world searches for rest
I am reminded I am only a small part of His plan.
When skies are blue or gray you are always there beside me.
I am reminded of God's love at the site
of a rainbow after the rain.
When I see the flag I'm reminded of the freedoms I share.
I remember God's love to me when I suffer much pain.
As the clowns come to town I am grateful I'm able to laugh.
I'll share your heavy load to let you know I care.
I am reminded day by day we have much to share.
To My Students,
Love and Harmony that’s all I ask for, Peace and Unity.
