Dear
Parents,
Welcome to
the Redland Christian Academy 2010-2011 school year!
ABOUT MYSELF:
I’m a
Christian who is very dedicated to staying in God’s word. I love to
serve Him and others and I regularly attend South Dade Baptist
church. If I could ever do anything for you, or study the Gospel
with you or your family, please feel free to contact me.
I am the
mother of two young adult men. Daniel is my oldest and Javier the
youngest. I’M EXTREMELY VERY PROUD OF THEM. They both attended RCA
from first grade through their senior year. I strongly believe that
they received a good Christian education here.
I have been
teaching at Redland Christian Academy for fifteen years and I am
happy to still be a teacher here.
What
I will be covering in K-3 this year:
The first
two weeks will cover basic guidelines, discipline, rules and also
classroom procedures.
By the
second or third week your child will be tested on their basic
learning skills, their language development, their motor skills, and
their behavior observed. Please do not worry or stress yourself on
this matter, I do this at the beginning of the school year and also
at the end of every grading period. This is just for you to see your
child’s growth in these areas and to make me accountable to you that
I am doing my job.
I will also
cover the letters of the alphabet and their sounds, as well as the
numbers 0 - 15, colors, shapes, and some beginning writing skills.
Your child
will also have
Crafts
and Science throughout the year and field trips. He or she
will also have Library, Spanish, Computers and P.E. taught by other
staff members.
Your child
will have homework four times a week. This is very important in
order to start developing the correct set of homework skills. I do
go over the homework assignments every morning and they are rewarded
for all work done and turned in on a timely basis. Please parents,
I know that you would love to help them on some of the homework, and
it is fine to do so occasionally. However, I do expect them to
develop their own manipulative skills, which means they need to do
most of the homework themselves.
I will be
also be teaching one of my favorite subjects and the one I think is
most important for children and that is Bible. Our Bible time will
consist of Bible songs and stories, and once a week they will attend
chapel which is done in our own chapel with JFL and the AIM team.
You are welcome to join us on that day, so long as you come on time.
Once again,
thank you. I pray and hope that you and your child have a pleasant
year here at RCA.
God Bless,
Ms.
Orozco
